LANDMARK PROJECT ON MINING
Mining is the extraction of valuable minerals or other geological materials from the earth, usually from an ore body, lode, vein, seam, reef or placer deposit.
BITUMEN
Bitumen is a black viscous mixture of hydrocarbons obtained naturally or as a residue from petroleum distillation. At the temperatures normally encountered in natural deposits, bitumen will not flow; in order to be moved through a pipe, it must be heated and, in some cases, diluted with lighter oil. It owes its density and viscosity to its chemical composition—mainly large hydrocarbon molecules known as asphaltenes and resins, which are present in lighter oils but are highly concentrated in bitumen. By far most refined bitumen is used in paving asphalt and roofing tiles, as is a large amount of natural bitumen. Bituminous materials or asphalts are extensively used for roadway construction, primarily because of their excellent binding characteristics and water proofing properties and relatively low cost. Bituminous materials consists of bitumen which is a black or dark coloured solid or viscous cementitious substances consists chiefly high molecular weight hydrocarbons derived from distillation of petroleum or natural asphalt, adhesive properties, and is soluble in carbon disulphide. Tars are residues from the destructive distillation of organic substances such as coal, wood, or petroleum and are temperature sensitive than bitumen.
Production of Bitumen
Bitumen is the residue or by-product when the crude petroleum is refined. Green Globe USA LLC makes use of a wide variety of refinery processes, such as the straight distillation process, solvent extraction process etc. to produce bitumen of different consistency and other desirable properties.
Vacuum steam distillation of petroleum oils
Here, the crude oil is heated and is introduced into a large cylindrical still. Steam is introduced into the still to aid in the vapourisation of the more volatile constituents of the petroleum and to minimise decomposition of the distillates and residues. The volatile constituents are collected, condensed, and the various fractions stored for further refining, if needed.
DIFFERENT FORMS OF BITUMEN
Cutback bitumen
In cutback bitumen suitable solvent is used to lower the viscosity of the bitumen. From the environmental point of view also cutback bitumen is preferred. The solvent from the bituminous material will evaporate and the bitumen will bind the aggregate. Cutback bitumen is used for cold weather bituminous road construction and maintenance. The distillates used for preparation of cutback bitumen are naphtha, kerosene, diesel oil, and furnace oil.
Bituminous primers
In bituminous primer the distillate is absorbed by the road surface on which it is spread. The absorption therefore depends on the porosity of the surface. Bitumen primers are useful on the stabilised surfaces and water bound macadam base courses.
Modified Bitumen
Certain additives or blend of additives called as bitumen modifiers can improve properties of Bitumen and bituminous mixes. Bitumen treated with these modifiers is known as modified bitumen. Polymer modified bitumen (PMB)/ crumb rubber modified bitumen (CRMB) should be used only in wearing course depending upon the requirements of extreme climatic variations.
TESTS ON BITUMEN
In Green Globe USA LLC there are a number of tests we use to assess the properties of bituminous materials. The following tests are usually conducted to evaluate different properties of bituminous materials’ PENETRATION TEST, DUCTILITY TEST, SOFTENING POINT TEST, SPECIFIC GRAVITY TEST, VISCOSITY TEST, FLASH AND FIRE POINT TEST

Unfortunately, Nigeria doesn’t have a nation-wide sanitation program and recycling system. Dirty and impure water flows from houses and joins surface water. This pollutes the air and water sources. It makes water levels in underground aquifers impure. This breeds mosquitoes which cause malaria. Malaria is a prime example of how human action and human negligence can create diseases. People in Nigeria realize how many people suffer from malaria, how much pain people experience from the disease and how it affects the Nigerian economy. It affects both personal health and wellbeing as well as personal economy. With green technology, Green Globe USA can provide sanitation to houses by recycling all types of household waste products. Achieving this on a nation-wide basis will mark a sea change in Nigeria’s climate and global warming. We are also aware that Nigeria’s recycling needs can be measured in terms of billions of dollars’ worth of business and can employ thousands of educated youth now unemployed throughout the country. We, Green Globe USA, are ready as a company to bring green technology to Nigeria. It can’t change with one house. But once we start with any project, it can be the harbinger of greater things to come in the form of green technology in Nigeria. When thousands of houses will be built green, people can understand and realize the impact of green technology and it can contribute to at least ONE GREAT THING – it can stop the ongoing rapid degeneration of Nigeria’s climate.
Green Globe USA can guarantee one thing to Nigeria – with the full support of the federal and state governments of Nigeria:- we can lay the foundation of a new regeneration of Nigeria with clean energy, pure air and hybrid transportation which can result in a cleaner Nigeria. As soon as we become operational and begin to build in Nigeria, global warming and ozone depletion will be things of the past. For this, a lot of work lies ahead. But right now, the first step is to understand what green technology is and how Green Globe USA can implement it by bringing changes to the country one green house at a time.
THE world is waiting for Africa to rise. With the help of Green Globe USA, Nigeria can play a leading role in the emergence and growth of green technology throughout the continent. Green Globe is ready, willing and able to participate in this inevitable, promising and sacred new mission.

As per dredging is concerned, it is the excavation activity or operation usually carried out partly underwater either in shallow or fresh water areas. The purpose is mostly to collect the sediments at the bottom of water and dispose them at different locations. This is mostly used to increase the depth and breadth of water to make it more navigable.
We have worked on dredging on different projects which have helped in beach restoration, deepening and broadening of canals, ecosystem restoration, land reclamation and island creation.
Green Globe and its partners who worked under the umbrella of the company have dredged clogged canals at Cape Coral in Florida. These canals have not been dredged for 10 years and most of them are located in the southwest quadrant of the city, South of Hancock Bridge Parkway and Santa Barbara Blvd.
Some crews worked on dewatered cells with large piles of sand taken out of the canal. The intention was to increase the available land for the city. The goal of this Grator dredging is to dredge out 47,000 cubic yards of sand and clean the area of scooping oil spillings and clearing the water of weeds and water hyacinth to make it more navigable.
The city had a survey of all the canals and found that 51 of them needed dredging.
The city has asked us to make the water 24 feet deep more than 15 feet of the existing 9 feet depth.
According to the data available, relating to more than 1.2 million fish, originating from different 154 species sampled over 10 years studies of St. Sebastian River by Florida Fish and Wildlife Research Institute, the dredging didn’t have a considerable influence on the fish population.
LAND RECLAMATION and ISLAND CREATION:
ISLAND CREATION:
Only recently, we worked on a project in California to deepen the channel and the materials dredged from the channel construction were used to add nearly 200 acres of land to the port. This would help to accommodate an expected doubling of cargo moving through the port in next 10 years.
The dredging of 6 million square yard of materials produced water depths of 15 feet to 24 feet to accommodate containers as well as dry bulk vessels.
Among the dredgers we work with are swinging dragons, Dragon Cutter head dredges, Super Dragon Cutter head Dredges, Wheel Dragon Bucket wheel Dredges and Sand miner. The Bucket water Cutter head dredger is very good in sand mining and the bucket wheel excavator helps in dredging hard and solid rock at the bottom of the sea.
